Everyday little things...

This is a note I wrote tonight to the Police Department... I also plan to write it to the Idaho Statesman with a few changes.

A neighbor of mine committed suicide in the neighborhood today, and as tragic and terrible as that was. I feel the handling of the investigation into his death was handled even worse. The man in question was known to many of us in the area if not by name at least on sight, he was known to many of the areas children. To my horror just minutes after finding out that he had indeed committed suicide I found that many of the area children were able to actually view his body and the scene of his suicide from an open garage door. I do hope it is not the policy of this police force to knowingly allow children to view such gruesome sights. Our children already grow up much too fast; they certainly need no help from the Boise Police Force.
